Cuttack: The Chief Justice of India Surya Kant delivered the keynote address at the High Court Bar Association of Orissa’s symposium, emphasizing the need to ensure justice for the common man by reducing litigation costs and delays.

Addressing senior judges, advocates, and dignitaries, CJI Surya Kant highlighted the human impact of delayed justice, recounting his early experience with an elderly farmer waiting in court.

He underlined the importance of clearing case backlogs, promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and mediation, and leveraging technology responsibly to improve efficiency.

CJI Surya Kant also stressed strengthening judicial infrastructure, including specialized and time-bound courts, calling it an investment in the nation’s legal framework.

He concluded by urging collective effort from the Bench, Bar, Administration, and citizens to create a more accessible, predictable, and humane justice system.
