CJI Surya Kant’s Rakhi Moment Goes Viral (Img: X)
New Delhi: A young student from Bihar became the centre of attention during Raksha Bandhan celebrations at the Supreme Court after she tied a rakhi to Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant.
Ragini Ojha, a Class 11 science student from Delhi’s Government Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, West Vinod Nagar, had specially prepared a rakhi with her own hands and expressed her wish to tie it to the Chief Justice.
Moved by her request, CJI Surya Kant invited students to the Judges’ Lounge at the Supreme Court premises, where the festival was celebrated in a warm and special manner.
Ragini Ojha has her roots in Bihar’s Siwan district. She belongs to Jiradei village and currently studies in Delhi.
This was her first visit to the Supreme Court, where she got the opportunity to meet the country’s Chief Justice and participate in the Raksha Bandhan celebration.
Ragini presented the handmade rakhi to CJI Surya Kant and also received his autograph, which she described as a lifelong memory.
She said the Chief Justice’s simple and friendly behaviour with students left a deep impression on her. She praised his inspiring personality and the way he interacted with students without any formality.
During the event, CJI Surya Kant interacted with around 20 school students at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge.
The students shared their experiences and celebrated the festival together. Arrangements for refreshments were also made after the programme.
Sharing her experience, Ragini said entering the Supreme Court premises through security gates in an escort vehicle was a moment she would never forget.
She said the respect and warmth she received made her feel as if she was living a dream.
For Ragini, the visit was not just about tying a rakhi but also about taking back memories, lessons and inspiration that she will cherish throughout her life.
