Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Lucknow to pay his final respects to former IPS officer Ram Yash Singh. His presence underscored the deep respect Singh commanded across administrative and political circles.
The last rites of Ram Yash Singh will be performed at 11:00 AM tomorrow in Lucknow. Family members, senior officials, and well-wishers are expected to attend and bid a final farewell to the veteran officer.
The 83-year-old former DIG (Bihar) passed away on Monday around noon after suffering a heart attack at approximately 11:30 AM at his Lucknow residence. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived.
Ram Yash Singh, father of Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law & Order) and STF Chief Amitabh Yash, was widely respected for his discipline, courage, and commitment to justice. A 1985-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre, he served as SSP in districts like West and East Champaran and Jehanabad, earning a reputation for integrity and strong leadership.
At Dynamite News headquarters, Editor-in-Chief Manoj Tibrewal Aakash chaired a condolence meeting where journalists and staff paid heartfelt tributes. He described Singh’s demise as an irreparable loss and remembered him as an officer who turned policing into a true instrument of public service.
After retiring from service, he continued contributing to society as a senior advocate at the Patna High Court. He was also a member of the advisory board of Dynamite News, where his guidance was highly valued.
