New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has appealed to activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, saying his sacrifice has inspired youth across the country and that the protest for NEET Paper Leak will continue.

Wangchuk has been fasting for 25 days and is currently receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

In its appeal, the CJP assured Wangchuk that the agitation would be carried forward with greater strength until its demands were addressed. The organisation urged him to prioritise his health while reiterating its commitment to accountability and reforms in the examination system.

Wangchuk Had Sought Assurance from Political Leaders

Wangchuk had earlier said he was willing to end his fast if Members of Parliament and political party leaders assured him that concerns relating to accountability in the education sector would be raised during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

However, after the police action during the CJP-led “Chalo Sansad” march, he announced that he would continue fasting until a clear commitment was made.

The activist joined the agitation at Jantar Mantar on June 28 in support of students demanding action over alleged competitive examination irregularities, wider education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Opposition Delegation Likely to Visit Medanta

A delegation of Opposition MPs is also expected to meet Wangchuk at Medanta Hospital and persuade him to end his fast.

According to sources, the leaders will assure him that allegations of examination irregularities and the demand for greater accountability in the education sector will be raised in Parliament.

Congress MP Vivek Tankha, TMC MP Sagarika Ghose and CPI(M) MP John Brittas are reportedly among the leaders expected to meet him.

Wangchuk was shifted from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta following an order from the Delhi High Court.
