New Delhi: India is witnessing a steady decline in cases of Covid-19 infection. According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of active Covid cases in the country has come down to 6,483 as of 8 am on Wednesday.

This number is considered to be the lowest in recent months. There has been a decrease of 353 active cases of Covid in the last 24 hours, which is a sign of the epidemic coming under control, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Corona under control

According to the ministry, a total of 428 active cases decreased on June 17, while on June 16 this number was 119. This decline clearly shows that the rate of new cases of infection is slowing down and the recovery rate is improving. Now the active cases have come down below 6,500, which is a matter of relief for the health system.

However, in this atmosphere of relief, there is also some worrying news. In the last 24 hours, 4 deaths have been recorded in the country. Of these, two deaths have occurred in Maharashtra, while one person each has died in Kerala and Delhi. The ministry has clarified that the infected persons in all these deaths were elderly and were already suffering from other serious diseases, especially respiratory and heart diseases.

Talking about the state-wise figures of COVID cases, Kerala still remains the state with the highest number of active cases, although improvement has been seen here too. There has been a decrease of 275 active cases in the state as compared to the previous day, and currently a total of 1384 active cases have been registered. This makes it clear that the efforts being made by the state government are proving to be effective.

Effect of vaccination and awareness campaign

Experts believe that the vaccination campaign, continuity of masks, and public awareness have been major reasons behind the decline in COVID cases. However, the Health Ministry has warned people that even though COVID may not spread as intensely now, it is important to be vigilant about its new variants and symptoms.

Health Ministry statement

A senior official of the ministry said the situation of control over COVID-19 remains in the country, but the virus is not over yet. Elderly and sick persons should be especially cautious. The ministry also informed us that the facilities required for the treatment of COVID in the hospitals are still active and there is full preparation to handle the situation if needed.

Let us tell you that the decline in active cases of COVID is a relief for the country, but health experts are constantly reiterating that vigilance is safety. Especially the elderly and sick persons need to take special care. Stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates.
