
10 Killed in Maharashtra Highway Crash
Thane: Ten people were killed and several others seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra. A cement mixer truck and an Eco car full of passengers collided head-on near the Raite bridge on the Kalyan-Ahilyanagar highway in Maharashtra. The accident caused chaos in the area, and screams and cries were heard everywhere.
According to preliminary information, the Eco car was traveling from Kalyan to Murbad. The five-seater car was carrying 12 people. The car collided with an oncoming cement mixer truck near the Raite bridge. The impact was so severe that the car was completely damaged, leaving no room for the passengers to recover.
Eight people in the car died on the spot, while two others died in the hospital. The remaining injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment. Doctors say the condition of some of the injured remains critical.
Upon hearing the loud noise of the accident, nearby residents immediately rushed to the scene and began rescue efforts. However, the car was severely trapped, making it difficult to extricate the occupants. Upon receiving the information, Titwala police and a team from the highway administration also arrived at the scene. Together, the police and locals rescued the injured and took them to the hospital.
According to initial reports, the deceased include five men and three women, while the remaining two have not yet been identified. Titwala police are working to identify the deceased and contact their families.
