New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue court on Monday deferred verdict on framing a charge in a land for job corruption case against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and others. Special Judge Vishal Gogne deferred the order and listed the matter for December 4. Senior advocate Maninder Singh, representing Lalu Prasad Yadav, refuted the allegations in court, saying the case was "politically motivated." He argued that there was no evidence of any land being transferred in exchange for government jobs. Singh said, "Registered sale deeds exist that show the land was purchased for monetary value. No recruitment rules were violated, and no special treatment was provided by the former minister." Singh also pointed out that no railway general manager or official has stated that they received any influence or direction from Lalu Prasad Yadav in recruitment decisions. He said, "Simply calling him a kingpin is not enough. There is no evidence against him."
