Delhi summer gets brutal: Heatwave conditions expected to intensify next week

Delhi is set to witness an intense heatwave over the coming days, with temperatures expected to climb up to 47°C. Hot winds, rising humidity, and prolonged dry conditions may make outdoor activities difficult across NCR.

New Delhi: Delhi is expected to remain under intense heatwave conditions over the next several days as temperatures continue to rise sharply across the national capital. According to the latest weather forecast, the minimum temperature on Friday is likely to remain around 35 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may touch 43 degrees Celsius.

Weather officials said the mercury is expected to hover close to 36 degrees Celsius during most parts of the day. Wind speeds are likely to remain around 7.96 kmph, with gusts reaching nearly 8.49 kmph. The wind direction is expected to move around 37 degrees.

Temperatures May Reach 47 Degrees Celsius

The upcoming week is expected to bring even harsher weather conditions for residents. Forecast data suggests that the temperature may rise to 44 degrees Celsius on Saturday and further increase to 46 degrees Celsius on Sunday. By Monday, the maximum temperature could touch a scorching 47 degrees Celsius.

The heat is expected to continue through the week, with temperatures likely to remain around 46 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and nearly 45 degrees Celsius on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Residents Advised to Take Precautions

Authorities have advised people to avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated amid the rising temperatures. Sunrise in Delhi occurred at 05:30 AM on Friday, while sunset is expected at 07:04 PM.
