Delhi Weather Update: City Under Cloudy Skies, More Showers Expected Till August 24

New Delhi: Weather conditions in Delhi-NCR have changed once again, bringing relief from the intense humidity. After a hot and humid Thursday, evening showers brought a noticeable change in the weather. Following the rainfall, a drop in minimum temperatures was recorded across the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall activity on Friday.

Minimum Temperature Falls After Rainfall

On Thursday, August 20, Delhi witnessed cloudy skies with occasional spells of bright sunshine. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, around 1.5 degrees below normal, while the maximum temperature reached 35.8 degrees Celsius, which was 1.6 degrees above normal.

The city experienced high humidity throughout the day, with light rainfall reported in several areas. Another spell of rain occurred in the evening. According to IMD data, Delhi received 8.1 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Delhi Weather Forecast for Friday

According to the weather department, Delhi is likely to remain under cloudy skies on Friday, August 21. The minimum temperature is expected to remain between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may stay between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.

Light rain or isolated showers are likely in several parts of Delhi from morning to afternoon. Another spell of very light rain may occur during the night, providing some relief from heat and humidity.

Rainfall Activity Likely to Continue Till August 24

The IMD has predicted that similar weather conditions may continue between August 22 and August 24, with intermittent light to moderate rainfall expected in the capital.

Winds from the northwest direction may blow at a speed of around 10 to 15 kmph during this period.

Temperature Drops by 1-3 Degrees in Several Areas

The rainfall has led to a decline of around 1 to 3 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures across different parts of Delhi. However, there has been no major change in maximum temperatures.

During the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures in various areas ranged between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures remained between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels remained high, reaching up to 100% at certain times.
