New Delhi: Delhi residents are likely to experience partly cloudy skies on Thursday, with the possibility of light rainfall in some parts of the city, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather department has predicted that the maximum temperature may remain between 33°C and 35°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to stay around 24°C to 26°C. Winds are likely to blow at a speed of 10-15 kmph during the day.
Despite the possibility of rain, Delhi witnessed a significant rise in temperature on Wednesday.
The city’s main weather station at Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4°C, which was around 2.2 degrees above normal and nearly 5 degrees higher compared to the previous day.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.3°C, slightly below the normal level but marginally higher than Tuesday’s reading.
Several weather stations across Delhi reported a noticeable increase in daytime temperatures.
Palam recorded 35.1°C, while Lodhi Road registered 35.8°C. Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 26.3°C.
According to IMD data, no rainfall was recorded in Delhi till 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
The IMD has forecast chances of very light to light rain in parts of Delhi over the next few days.
Officials said partly cloudy conditions are expected to continue, with one or two spells of light showers possible from morning to evening.
