New Delhi: Residents are set to endure another day of extreme heat on Sunday, with the maximum temperature expected to touch 45 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to remain around 37 degrees Celsius. Weather conditions indicate that the city will experience consistently high temperatures throughout the day, offering little relief from the ongoing heatwave.
The combination of scorching daytime heat and warm nights is expected to make outdoor activities uncomfortable, prompting people to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours.
Despite the intense heat, wind conditions are expected to remain relatively mild. Winds are forecast to blow at a speed of around 4.71, with gusts reaching approximately 8.76. The wind direction is expected to remain around 292 degrees, but these breezes are unlikely to significantly reduce the sweltering conditions across the national capital.
According to the forecast, the sun rose at 5:25 AM and is expected to set at 7:22 PM on Sunday, resulting in a long, hot day for residents.
The week ahead suggests that Delhi's heatwave may gradually ease after the first half of the week. Maximum temperatures are forecast to remain at 45 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday before dipping slightly to 44 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Temperatures are then expected to fall to 42 degrees Celsius on both Wednesday and Thursday.
A more noticeable decline is likely by Friday, when the maximum temperature could drop to 36 degrees Celsius, followed by a slight rise to 39 degrees Celsius on Saturday, offering some respite from the prolonged spell of intense heat.
