New Delhi: Delhi residents may experience a welcome change in weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday. The expected weather activity is likely to provide relief from the intense heat that has gripped the region in recent weeks.
According to the latest IMD forecast, several areas in Delhi and neighboring cities, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, could receive light to moderate rainfall during the day. Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds are also expected in isolated locations.
The anticipated rainfall comes at a time when residents have been struggling with soaring temperatures and uncomfortable weather conditions. Increased cloud cover is expected to help keep daytime temperatures below the extreme levels recorded earlier this month.
Meteorologists attribute the changing weather pattern to favorable atmospheric conditions developing over northwestern India. These conditions are supporting cloud formation and enhancing the possibility of rainfall and thunderstorm activity across the region.
Over the past few days, parts of Delhi-NCR have already witnessed intermittent showers and thunderstorms, leading to temporary drops in temperature and improved comfort levels. The latest forecast suggests that this trend could continue through the weekend.
