New Delhi: A woman and her two daughters lost their lives after a fire broke out at a residential building in Delhi's Lodhi Colony on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The incident occurred in BK Dutt Colony, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Lodhi Colony Police Station. According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a call about the blaze was received at 10:21 am, prompting firefighters to rush to the spot.

Three Bodies Recovered

Fire officials said the blaze had engulfed a house on the third floor of the building. One water tender, one water bowser and one breathing apparatus tender were deployed to control the fire.

The fire was brought under control by 11:10 am. During the operation, firefighters recovered the bodies of a woman and her two daughters from the third floor.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and authorities have launched an investigation.

Another Fire in West Delhi

In a separate incident earlier the same day, at least eight people were rescued after a fire broke out in the parking area of a residential building in Fateh Nagar, West Delhi.

The blaze spread to two cars, two scooters and parts of the multi-storey building. During firefighting operations, two LPG cylinders exploded, but no injuries were reported. All occupants were safely evacuated.

Officials said the fire was brought under control after several fire tenders were deployed, and the cause is also under investigation.

Recent String of Fire Incidents

The latest incidents come weeks after the devastating fire at the Flourish Stay B&B in Delhi's Hauz Rani area, where 23 people lost their lives. Authorities continue to stress the importance of fire safety measures and compliance with building regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
