Mainpuri: Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP and the central government, raising questions over several political and social issues, including the Ram Mandir donation controversy, paper leaks, the Lucknow coaching centre fire incident and student protests.
Speaking to reporters in Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav said the government should act against everyone found guilty in the Ram Mandir donation matter. She said the issue should not be viewed as being limited to one person, and if others are involved, action must be taken against them as well.
“This is not about just one individual. Whoever is responsible should face action. No one should be spared, whether the person is in a high position or not,” she said.
The SP MP also supported the opposition’s charge that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not speak on major national issues. Referring to the Ram Mandir row and the Lucknow coaching centre fire incident, she said such matters are serious and demand a response from senior leaders.
“When such major incidents take place in the country, top leaders should express concern and condolences. If they remain silent, it gives a message to the public that these issues are not being taken seriously,” Dimple Yadav said.
She also criticised the government over paper leaks and student protests, alleging that the youth are frustrated due to repeated examination-related irregularities and lack of employment opportunities. According to her, the government has failed to address the concerns of students and job seekers.
Taking a dig at the incident in Firozabad where the height of Tazias was reportedly measured by police officials ahead of Muharram, Dimple Yadav accused the BJP of promoting divisive politics. She said such actions send a message that the government is more focused on creating social divisions than solving people’s real problems.
Dimple Yadav further attacked the BJP over political defections, calling it “open corruption” and against the spirit of the Constitution. She alleged that the ruling party was trying to expand its organisation by weakening democratic values.
Her remarks come amid growing political exchanges between the BJP and the opposition over governance, religious issues, student concerns and law-and-order matters in Uttar Pradesh.
