Dr PK Mishra highlights Dholera Expressway potential towards smart industrial infrastructure

Dholera/Lothal: Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr PK Mishra conducted a comprehensive review of key infrastructure projects in Gujarat, reinforcing the Government focus on rapid industrial development in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi vision, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Ahmedabad-Dholera Greenfield Expressway

During his visit, Dr Mishra inspected the under-construction Ahmedabad–Dholera Greenfield Expressway,a transformative project expected to reduce travel time between the two cities, Ahmedabad and Dholera, in just 45 minutes. He called for timely execution with world-class standards.

Dholera International Airport Project

At the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), he assessed the Dholera International Airport project, where cargo operations are expected to begin by October 2025. He emphasised the importance of synchronised connectivity with the expressway.

Dr Mishra also visited the Tata Electronics’ Semiconductor Fabrication plant which is a key component of India’s push for self-reliance in chip manufacturing, and reviewed associated social infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and housing developed by DICDL.

High-Level Meeting

Chairing a high-level meeting with officials from DICDL, NHAI, Airports Authority of India, and Indian Railways, Dr Mishra reviewed progress on strategic projects such as the Bhimnath–Dholera Freight Rail Link and the Ahmedabad–Dholera Semi-High-Speed Rail. He reiterated the government’s commitment to developing Dholera as a world-class smart industrial city.

Visits NMHC In Lothal

Apart from that, Dr Mishra visited the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) in Lothal, where he chaired a review with officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, ASI, and Gujarat Maritime Board. Stressing research-driven curation, he underscored the importance of NMHC as a scholarly tribute to India’s maritime heritage, with Phase I-A expected to be completed by August 2025.

Dr Mishra also reviewed the site’s environmental sustainability efforts, including native plantations and water conservation, was also reviewed. He was accompanied by PMO officials Tarun Kapoor and Mangesh Ghildiyal throughout the visit.
