New Delhi: An explosion near Delhi's Red Fort on Monday evening caused panic. According to initial information, the explosion occurred in a car, after which the fire spread rapidly, engulfing three to four other vehicles parked nearby. According to reports eight killed and 24 injured in this incident. Multiple casualties have been brought to the LNJP hospital due to the blast near Gate No 1 of Red Fort Metro Station
Upon hearing the explosion, panic gripped the area, and local residents immediately informed the police and fire department.
Upon receiving the information, a Delhi Police team and several fire department vehicles arrived at the scene. Efforts are currently underway to control the fire. Police have cordoned off the entire area and removed nearby vehicles.

The incident is reported to have occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. Five fire tenders have reached the spot. The area is usually crowded, especially in the evening hours. It is not yet clear whether the blast was caused by a CNG leak in the car or due to some other reason. Officials have reached the site, and an investigation is underway from all possible angles.

The Delhi Fire Department shared key details about the incident, stating that they received information about an explosion in a car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. Following the blast, three to four nearby vehicles also caught fire and sustained damage.
An eyewitness described the explosion as so powerful that nearby houses shook, and the windows of surrounding shops shattered. Panic spread among people as the car that exploded and the nearby vehicles quickly turned into fireballs before anyone could comprehend what had happened.
