New Delhi: The Central Government has issued important advice to citizens regarding the availability of petrol and diesel across the country. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that there is sufficient availability of petrol and diesel at all petrol pumps across the country. People have also been warned not to carry fuel in loose or improper containers or store such containers at home, as this could pose serious safety risks.

Ample Availability of Petrol and Diesel

In its official statement, the government stated that there is adequate supply of petrol and diesel at retail outlets across the country, i.e., petrol pumps. Citizens need not panic and hoard fuel. The Ministry stated that incidents of improper fuel handling have been reported at some locations, and immediate action is being taken.

Instance reported in Tamil Nadu

According to government information, a case has been reported at a petrol pump in Tamil Nadu where people were being given petrol in loose containers. The Ministry described this as extremely unsafe and against regulations.

Transporting fuel in loose containers is dangerous

According to experts, transporting or storing flammable substances like petrol and diesel in loose or improper containers at home can be extremely dangerous. This increases the risk of accidents like fire or explosion. Therefore, the government has appealed to citizens to follow safety rules and obtain fuel only through safe and authorized means.

Strict instructions issued to petrol pumps

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has directed all petrol pump operators and dealers to strictly follow all safety guidelines during fuel dispensing. If any petrol pump is found violating these rules, strict action will be taken against them.

Citizens urged to be vigilant

The government has appealed to people to ignore rumors and follow safety rules. To avoid any fuel-related risks, it is important that people do not carry petrol or diesel in loose or unsafe containers or store it at home.
