Hiar: Haryana witnessed two tragic road accidents involving state-run roadways buses within the span of 24 hours, leaving one student dead and over 25 others injured.

In a tragic accident that occurred on Monday morning near Hisar, a Haryana Roadways bus carrying around 70 passengers—mostly school and college students—overturned near the Rajli railway crossing. One student, identified as 20-year-old Mohit from Rajli village, died in the incident, while four others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The incident took place around 9:30 AM when the bus attempted to navigate a blocked road caused by a fallen tree. In an effort to bypass the obstruction, the driver took the vehicle onto a kachcha (unpaved) path. However, the bus lost balance and overturned into adjacent fields. Eyewitnesses reported that many passengers were trapped inside the vehicle until locals arrived to help with the rescue efforts. Emergency services soon reached the spot and facilitated medical assistance.

Just a day earlier, on Sunday, another Haryana Roadways bus met with an accident in Kaithal district, leaving 25 out of 35 passengers injured. The bus was on its scheduled route from Krodha to Narwana when it overturned between Jakholi and Kasan villages.

According to eyewitnesses, the narrow road and soft roadside soil—loosened by heavy rains the night before—led to the mishap. As the bus tried to give way to an oncoming truck, one of its wheels slipped into the mud, causing the driver to lose control. The bus veered off the road and overturned into a field about 8 feet below road level.

Locals rushed to the spot and rescued many people. Authorities also reached the accident spot. The deceased, Khushi Mohammed, is a resident of Rajli village. He was pursuing a computer course. His father is reportedly posted in Delhi.

Villagers from nearby areas rushed to the site and helped in pulling people out of the bus.

Twenty-year-old Khushi Mohammad, a resident of Rajli village, died on the spot. Four girl students suffered serious injuries and were rushed to the local hospital.

Meanwhile, passengers are blaming the driver for the incident. Mohammed’s friend Kuldeep, told the media house that the driver took a sharp turn near the uprooted tree which resulted in the accident.
