New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday placed India’s youth at the centre of the country’s journey towards Viksit Bharat, saying he has complete faith in the younger generation to transform national dreams into reality.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, PM Modi highlighted the role of young Indians while stressing the need to speed up reforms to achieve the country’s development goals.

During his 13th consecutive Independence Day address from the Red Fort, PM Modi said, “I have faith in the youth of my country, the mothers and sisters of my country, the farmers of my country, and the workers of my country that we can make this dream a reality.”
The Prime Minister said the collective strength of citizens would play a crucial role in building a developed India and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The theme of this year’s Independence Day celebrations focused on ‘Yuva Shakti’, highlighting the contribution of young Indians in shaping the nation’s future.

The celebrations saw participation from thousands of young cadets and volunteers. Around 2,500 boys and girls from the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with My Bharat volunteers, took part in the programme and showcased the spirit of youth participation.
PM Modi linked the confidence in India’s youth with the need for faster reforms across sectors. He said continued efforts and collective participation would help the country move closer to its development ambitions.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s progress across different sectors, saying that the nation, powered by 140 crore citizens, is reaching new milestones.
The Independence Day celebrations also marked 150 years of Vande Mataram, with the National Song being included in the Red Fort ceremony.
PM Modi earlier paid tribute to freedom fighters and said their sacrifices continue to inspire the country’s journey towards a developed India. The Prime Minister’s message from the historic Red Fort focused on youth power, reforms and the collective responsibility of citizens in shaping India’s future.
