Gurugram turns into 'Jalgram'
Gurugram: Heavy rain on Monday night and Tuesday morning turned the roads of Gurugram into canals, which exposed the poor drainage system of the city. A few hours of rain turned Gurugram into a 'flood city' and the general public had to face a lot of trouble due to waterlogging in many areas of the city.
After the rain, Gurugram Municipal Corporation officials came out on the streets and inspected the water drainage, drainage, sewerage system. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya on Tuesday took stock of the cleanliness and drainage system of Sector-46 via South City-2, Sector-50, Mayfield Garden. He instructed the concerned officials to give priority to the work of repairing and improving the quality of roads as soon as the rain ends.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya inspected from Civil Lines to Rajiv Chowk, Subhash Chowk to Malibu Town. During the inspection, he directly interacted with the public and listened to their problems. Especially the people of Sector-46 market and park complained about cleanliness and bad roads. On this, the Commissioner directed the officials to take action for necessary improvement.
The corporation's nursery was also inspected in Sector-46, from where the activities of the Municipal Corporation's environment and green area were reviewed. During this, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Yadav, Chief Engineer Vijay Dhaka, Executive Engineer Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Engineer Manoj Ahlawat, Senior Sanitation Inspector Sandeep Kumar and other officers and employees were also present.
