Jakarta: A helicopter that took off from Indonesia suddenly went missing. There were 8 people on board this helicopter, including 1 Indian. However, the helicopter lost contact shortly after takeoff. The search operation for the helicopter is on, but it has not been found yet.
This helicopter took off from Borneo Island in Indonesia on Monday. The helicopter lost contact after flying some distance. The search for the helicopter is still on on Tuesday.
Contact lost after flying some distance
According to Indonesian news agency Antara, the Astindo Air BK 117 D3 helicopter had a pilot, an engineer and six passengers on board. After leaving Indonesia on Monday, the helicopter had reached near the Mandin Damar waterfall in Mentawe in South Kalimantan province, when suddenly the helicopter lost contact.

An Indian citizen Santha Kumar was also on board this helicopter that went missing from Indonesia. The other people on board the helicopter have been identified as Captain Hariyanto, Ing Hendra, Mark Veren, Yudi Febrian, Andis Risa Pasulu, Claudine Quito and Iboy Irfan Rosa.
I Putu Sudana, head of the agency searching for the helicopter, said -
Two other helicopters have also been deployed in the search operation to ensure safety, because simultaneous deployment in the same area can pose a threat to the joint search and rescue team.
Search operation continues
Apart from the search operation conducted in the air, 140 rescue workers from different agencies have been deployed on the ground. Local people are also helping in the search operation. With the help of air support, the search operation is going on in an area of 27 kilometers. But, the helicopter and the people on board have not been identified yet.
