Himachal: Massive rains, cloudbursts throw life in disarray; Red Alert issued

Shimla: Monsoon has fully arrived in several states causing destruction at many places due to heavy rains. But Himachal Pradesh seems to have suffered the most. Almost the entire state has been submerged due to rain. More than 260 roads have been closed in the state, including 176 roads in Mandi district alone, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The Monsoon has arrived in Himachal Pradesh on 20 June and since then it has created chaos in the whole state particularly in Mandi.

In Mandi alone about 80 people have died in flood-landslide incidents and around 300 people are injured. Mandi district has seen the highest number of 14 deaths in cloudburst incidents. Many people are still missing here. There is a red alert for heavy rain in the state even today.

Cloudburst In Bagsiyar

Cloudburst has also caused heavy destruction in Bagsiyar village, 60 km from Mandi. Many people are missing after the accident in this area. The havoc of rain has been such that in many areas houses, apple orchards and many bridges have been swept away by the flow of water.

Chamba And Mandi

In Chamba and Mandi due to cloudburst, at least 5 bridges have been washed away. The bridge built on Kanghela drain in Chamba was destroyed. At the same time, one vehicle-traffic and three pedestrian bridges were washed away in Chauhar Valley of Mandi district.

It has been such a heavy downpour that people say that they have never seen such a scene till date. A cloudburst occurred in Siraj valley, 50 km from Mandi. Within an hour, there was such a flood of water that it engulfed many villages around this valley.

As written earlier cloudburst has also caused heavy destruction in Bagsiyar village, 60 km from Mandi. Sevral people are missing after the cloudburst. Number of houses, apple orchards and many bridges have been washed away.

Siraj Valley Mandi

A few days ago, a cloudburst took place in the Siraj valley causing such a flood of water that it engulfed many villages around this valley.

There is a scene of devastation everywhere. According to the Weather Office there is a possibility of more rain in the next two days which may worsen the situation.
