A fire at a Delhi restaurant in Malviya Nagar has killed 21 people and left several injured. Rescue teams rushed to save those trapped as firefighters battled the intense basement blaze.

New Delhi: A devastating fire broke out on Wednesday morning at Lemon Green Restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, leaving at least 21 people dead. According to officials, the blaze originated in the basement of the building, triggering panic and an urgent emergency response.

The Delhi Fire Services received an alert at around 8:50 AM to  9:45 AM and immediately rushed multiple fire tenders to the spot. Rescue teams began operations as several individuals were suspected to be trapped inside.

Large-Scale Rescue Operation Launched

Authorities confirmed that 11 people have been rescued so far from the building. Among them, three individuals were pulled out from the basement in critical condition and shifted to a nearby hospital using CATS ambulances for treatment.

Officials said medical teams are closely monitoring the condition of the injured as rescue efforts continued for hours after the incident.

10 Fire Tenders Deployed at Site

A total of 10 fire tenders were deployed to control the flames, which took time to bring under control due to the intensity of the fire and its location in the basement area.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain what led to the tragic incident.

Today, At 08:48 AM, information was received regarding a fire at Flourish Stay B&B, Malviya Nagar. Local police staff immediately reached the spot and commenced rescue, evacuation, and relief operations.

The fire has been successfully extinguished with the assistance of 08 fire tenders. Through the coordinated efforts of Police, Fire Services, and other emergency responders, more than 40 persons have been rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

It is with profound sorrow that 21 persons have been declared dead in this tragic incident. Rescue and search operations are still underway, and all concerned agencies remain deployed at the spot to ensure every possible assistance to those affected.
