It is worth noting that the rift between the expelled TMC MLA Kabir and the TMC widened further when Kabir laid the foundation stone for a new mosque modeled after the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad district on December 6. This date marked the anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Following this, the TMC suspended him last week for violating party rules and making controversial statements. Initially, Kabir had indicated that he would resign from his MLA post, but then he suddenly changed his stance and said that he would remain in the assembly.
