Hyderabad bound Lufthansa flight returns to Frankfurt after bomb threat

New Delhi: A Lufthansa flight bound for Hyderabad had to take a U-turn and land back at Frankfurt Airport on Sunday evening. Flight LH752 had departed from Germany.

It was to land at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Monday morning. Lufthansa Airlines was not given permission to land in Hyderabad due to bomb threat. That is why the plane took a U-turn and returned.

An official of Hyderabad Airport has confirmed that the plane had to return to its original location Germany. He told that the plane had received a bomb threat. At that time the plane was outside Indian airspace. Because of this it was asked to return.

Bomb Threat Email

According to official sources, Lufthansa flight LH 752 received a bomb threat email at Hyderabad airport on June 15, 2025 at 18:01 pm. An assessment committee was formed after the bomb threat and all procedures were followed as per SOP. In view of safety, the airline was advised to return to the origin or the nearest suitable airport.

British F-35 Emergency Landing At Thiruvananthapuram

Earlier, a British F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Saturday night after running out of fuel. People associated with the matter had told on Sunday that the plane took off from the aircraft carrier and landed safely at around 9.30 pm.

According to sources, the pilot reported low fuel and sought permission to land. Everything was handled quickly and professionally.

Earlier Flight U-Turn

Just a couple of days back, an Air India flight from Phuket, a Thailand resort island, to Delhi requested an emergency landing on Friday due to a bomb threat, Phuket airport authority said, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Accused Identity Not Known

On Friday, Air India flight AI379 was going from Phuket to Delhi when it received a bomb threat. After this, the plane had to make an emergency landing in Phuket. The identity of the person who made the threat is yet to be ascertained. This incident happened a day after the Ahmedabad air crash.

The 156 passengers on this flight were evacuated safely. The plane landed back at Phuket airport after circling over the Andaman Sea. No information has been received yet about the person who made the threat.

Emergency Landing

An official said that flight AI 379 has landed and is working further with the airport emergency service. Officials said that Air India flight going from the Thai island of Phuket to Delhi had received a bomb threat on Friday. As soon as the information was received, an emergency landing was made.

Immediately after landing, all the passengers present in the flight were taken down for security reasons. Along with this, the entire aircraft is being thoroughly checked.

Flight From Phuket

The flight took off from Phuket airport for Delhi at 9:30 am on Friday (02:30 local time), which was to reach Delhi at 1 pm Indian time. However, after receiving a threat near the Andaman Sea, the flight made a big circle and was landed back.
