Rajya Sabha MPs, Abhishek Manu Abhishek Manu Sanghvi, Bandi Parthasarathy, Jaya Bachchan
New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MPs belonging to Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stand richest in the entire House with 18 MPs holding 39.39% of the total assets.
The total assets value of 226 Rajya Sabha sitting MPs is estimated at Rs 26,047 crores out of which Seven Telangana MPs assets alone is Rs 8310 crores, while the remaining 11 Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha members hold an asset value of 1949 crores.
This is revealed by the latest June report of Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR). Association of ADR and National Election Watch( NEW) have analysed and updated the criminal, financial and other background details of 226 MPs, out of 233 Rajya Sabha MPs. In the current Rajya Sabha , Four seats from West Bengal state are vacant, Three MPs have not been analysed as their Affidavits were unavailable.
Among the top Three richest Rajya Sabha MPs, Two are from Telangana. Bandi Parthasarathy from BRS party with Rs 5300 crore assets is at the top. He is a pharmacist.... founder of Hetero Drugs. The Second place goes to Punjab BJP MP Rajendra Gupta with total assets with Rs 5,053 crores. While the Third place goes to Telangana again with eminent Supreme Court lawyer Abhishek Manu Sanghvi with worth assets of Rs 2,558 crores.
Among the top Three Rajya Sabha MPs who has maximum debts/ liabilities , new Andhra Pradesh MP , Bhashyam Rama Krishna ( who runs educational institutions) is in a second position. His assets are estimated at Rs 672 crores, while debts are Rs 200 crores.
Independent MP from Jharkhand, Parimal Nathwani stood at the top with regards to debts. Nathwani total assets are Rs 755 crores and the debts at Rs 256 crores. Third position goes to Jaya Bachchan with total assets at Rs 1, 578 crores and the debts are Rs 149 crores.
