New Delhi: The Government of India has officially appointed senior diplomat Anurag Bhushan as the next Ambassador of India to Sweden, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has shared the information through an official statement. And he is expected to take up the assignment shortly, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Anurag Bhushan, currently serving as additional secretary in the ministry, is a 1995 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and has considerable experience in foreign affairs.

Anurag Bhushan has previously represented India in many countries like South Korea, Afghanistan, and America. He has also been the Consul General of India in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where he built strong relations with the Indian community and promoted India's business interests.

How are India-Sweden relations?

India-Sweden relations are excellent and good. Both these nations are believers in the democratic system and are supportive of each other on matters such as peace, development, and environmental protection.

Sweden is a technologically advanced and developed nation, and India is a large economy country with a youth population. Hence, both nations have numerous opportunities to learn from one another and advance together.

Discussing trade and investment, numerous large Swedish companies such as Volvo, IKEA, Ericsson, and H&M are operating in India. These organizations also give employment to thousands of individuals in India.

In return, India is also expanding collaboration with Sweden in the sectors of IT, pharma, automobiles, and renewable energy.

Both nations are collaborating in the area of environment and sustainable development. The collaboration between India and Sweden is being intensified in the fields of climate change, clean energy, and innovation.

There are also good cultural relations between India and Sweden. Sweden has numerous Indians who have migrated there for studies, work, or business. Indian festivals, yoga, and Bollywood are also popular there.

In the last few years, the prime ministers of the two nations have also met, and a lot of agreements were signed. Prime Minister Modi went to Sweden in the year 2018, and since then the relationship has grown stronger.

On the whole, the India-Sweden relationship is based on cooperation and trust, and this partnership is going to become even stronger in the coming times.
