New Delhi: India has expressed deep concern over reports of large number of civilian deaths in Lebanon. This statement was given in an official press briefing today, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

India's role in UN mission

India is a major contributor to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and has an important role in maintaining peace and stability in Lebanon.

Emphasis on international law

India said that the safety of civilians should be the foremost priority. Also, all countries must follow international law and respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Security of indians

The Indian Embassy in Lebanon is in touch with the Indian citizens living there and is making continuous efforts to ensure their safety.
