New Delhi: The Indian Army will host the inaugural International Military Adventure Challenge Cup (IMACC) 2026 from February 18 to 23, 2026, in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. The week-long event will bring together military teams from India and seven friendly nations for high-intensity adventure and endurance competitions.

Participating countries include Bhutan, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia. Indian contingents will feature teams from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The competition is designed to test core soldiering competencies such as physical fitness, mental resilience, leadership, teamwork, and decision-making under pressure. Set against challenging mountainous terrain, the event will simulate conditions similar to real-world military operations.

International military sports competitions have long served as platforms to strengthen trust, camaraderie, and cooperation among armed forces worldwide.

These events are conducted under the banner of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), guided by its motto, “Friendship through Sport.” India has been an active participant in this global tradition and previously hosted the fourth CISM Military World Games in 2007.
