IndiGo Flight Suffers Tail Strike at Ranchi Airport
Bhubaneswar: An IndiGo flight suffered a tail strike during landing at Ranchi airport on Friday evening (December 12, 2025). The incident occurred around 7:30 PM when the flight, arriving from Bhubaneswar, was carrying approximately 70 passengers.
Ranchi Airport Director Vinod Kumar explained that the tail of the aircraft touched the runway, causing a sudden jolt. However, all passengers were safe and unharmed. It was a technical incident, and there were no casualties.
Following the incident, the aircraft was deemed technically unfit for flight and was grounded. This resulted in the cancellation of the subsequent flight from Ranchi to Bhubaneswar.
Some passengers canceled their travel plans, while others rescheduled. Some passengers were transported to Bhubaneswar by road. Authorities stated that the situation was under control and ensured the safety of all passengers.
