New Delhi: International Yoga Day 2025 is being celebrated today with great enthusiasm and dedication, not just in India but across the world. From the streets of Delhi to the iconic Times Square in New York, people came together to practice yoga and promote a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasized the deep connection between human health and the health of the planet. People of all ages and backgrounds joined yoga sessions, taking a pledge to lead a more mindful and active life.

PM Modi Leads Main Event In Visakhapatnam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the main national celebration in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where he was joined by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. In his address, PM Modi highlighted how yoga has grown into a global movement, uniting people beyond borders, cultures, and beliefs.

He recalled how, when India proposed the idea of International Yoga Day at the United Nations, 175 countries supported it. “Today, yoga is not just part of India’s heritage it is a part of millions of lives across the globe,” he said. Modi called this phase “Yoga 2.0” and urged the world to adopt inner peace as a guiding principle in global policymaking.

Yoga Across India

Over 100 historical and 50 cultural sites across India hosted special yoga sessions. From Rani ki Vav in Gujarat to the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha, and from Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh to Brihadeeswarar Temple in Tamil Nadu, these iconic landmarks turned into serene spaces for yoga practice.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh performed yoga with Indian Army soldiers in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, while Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat joined a session at the majestic Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.

In the capital, yoga was performed at many heritage sites, and the Supreme Court complex hosted a session led by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), where judges, doctors, students, and citizens took part.

More than 2,000 people also participated in a large-scale session at the AIIA campus in Delhi.

Global Participation

International celebrations were equally vibrant. At Times Square in New York, a grand yoga event was held in collaboration with the Indian Embassy and local authorities.

Hundreds gathered to perform yoga in the heart of Manhattan, symbolizing peace and wellness.
