Etawah: The dispute and litigation between the Yadav storyteller and the Brahmin host in the district has taken a new turn. Cases were registered by both parties making serious allegations against each other.
Now, to maintain impartiality in this matter, the government has handed over the investigation of both cases to Jhansi Police, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Government decision on the request of SSP Etawah
This decision was taken after a letter was sent to the government by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Etawah. The SSP had requested that since the matter is related to local sentiments and social caste equations, there may be pressure on the local police to maintain impartiality. Keeping this in mind, the government has handed over the investigation of both cases to Jhansi Police.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, a storyteller coming from a Yadav community had recently organized a story in an area of Etawah. During this event, a dispute allegedly broke out between the Brahmin host and the storyteller.
Allegations were made from both sides that the dignity of the religious event was violated and casteist remarks were made. Due to this dispute, first a case was registered against the narrator by the Brahmin host, after which the narrator also filed a case against the Brahmin host in retaliation.
Tension between both the parties
After the incident, an atmosphere of social tension had developed in the area. The local police and administration immediately controlled the situation. However, in view of the increasing social pressure and opposition from both sides, the police department had recommended getting this matter investigated by a neutral agency.
What will happen now?
After the order of the government, Jhansi Police will now investigate both the FIRs at its own level. For this, the case file, statement, and evidence related to Etawah Police will be transferred to Jhansi Police. Jhansi Police will investigate the facts in both cases impartially and submit the conclusion to the government.
Statement of SSP Etawah
SSP Etawah said that this matter was sensitive and was related to caste sentiments. We had requested the government for impartiality and transparency. After accepting it, the investigation has been handed over to Jhansi police. Now both the parties will get the assurance of a fair investigation.
