New Delhi: Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in the national capital on Friday to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, putting the spotlight on India-Iran relations, West Asia tensions and the changing global geopolitical landscape.
Pezeshkian’s visit marks his first trip to India after taking charge as Iran’s President and comes at a time when global politics is witnessing major shifts driven by conflicts, economic uncertainty and growing concerns over energy security.
His much-anticipated meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties, expanding economic cooperation and discussing key regional and global challenges.
The Iranian President’s arrival has added strategic importance to the BRICS Summit, where leaders of emerging economies are expected to deliberate on trade cooperation, financial stability, energy security and a greater role for developing nations in global decision-making.
