Authorities in J&K’s Sopore have attached land belonging to a PoK-based accused in a long-pending case, citing legal provisions under CrPC and the Enemy Agents Ordinance.

Srinagar: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday attached a property in the Rafiabad area of Sopore, linked to an accused currently residing in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Officials said the action was taken following due legal procedure in connection with an ongoing case.

The attached land, measuring 1 Kanal and 12.5 Marlas, is located in Fadirpora village of Rafiabad. It is registered under Survey Nos. 15 Min and 17 Min.
The property belongs to Khursheed Ahmad Dar, a native of the area who has reportedly been living in PoK since 2005.
Officials confirmed that the action is tied to FIR No. 08/2008 registered at Panzalla Police Station.
The case was filed under provisions of the Enemy Agents Ordinance Act, which deals with offences related to individuals acting against national interests.
The attachment was carried out under Sections 87 and 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which allow authorities to seize property of proclaimed offenders.
Officials stated that all legal formalities were followed during the process.

The operation was conducted in the presence of revenue and police officials to ensure transparency. It was supervised by the Tehsildar of Dangiwacha along with the SDPO Rafiabad and SHO Panzalla.
Authorities reiterated that such actions are part of ongoing efforts to act against individuals evading legal proceedings.
