New Delhi: The controversy surrounding the alleged assault during the Jantar Mantar protest has intensified after CJP leaders claimed that Delhi Police has assured action against Swatantra Bhardwaj within 72 hours.
The statement came after CJP members staged a protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi, demanding strict action against Bhardwaj over allegations of assaulting Sanjay Azad, the father of protester Nishu Azad.
CJP leaders said they received an assurance from police officials regarding further action in the case, while maintaining that the accused should be arrested at the earliest.

CJP co-convener Saurav Das and leader Ashutosh Ranka led the protest, where supporters raised slogans demanding justice.
Das claimed that the police had assured them that action would be taken within 72 hours. He warned that if no progress was made, the organisation would intensify its campaign.
The protesters accused Delhi Police of delaying action despite repeated complaints.

The case relates to an alleged clash during a NEET protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20.
According to CJP, Sanjay Azad was attacked during the demonstration. The organisation alleged that the incident took place during a peaceful protest and demanded serious charges against those responsible.
The controversy gained further attention after a video allegedly featuring Swatantra Bhardwaj discussing the incident surfaced online. CJP claimed the video strengthened its allegations.
CJP leaders have also claimed that an attempt to murder case has been registered against Swatantra Bhardwaj in connection with the assault allegations.
However, the development remains part of the ongoing legal proceedings, and further action will depend on the police investigation and evidence collected in the case.
Earlier, Delhi Police said Sanjay Azad suffered injuries during a confrontation and was medically examined.
Police stated that the medical report mentioned simple injuries and rejected claims of a skull fracture, saying the available medical findings did not support such allegations.
The matter has triggered political reactions, with opposition leaders questioning the handling of the case and demanding accountability.
The focus now remains on the next steps by Delhi Police and whether further legal action is taken against Swatantra Bhardwaj.
