Noida: Competitive polo returned to Jindal Polo Estate in Noida after a six-month break, with Jindal Panther making a winning start to the 2026 season. The team defeated Sujan 12-6 in the opening match of the Jindal Panther Cup at Ground 1, setting the tone for a month of high-intensity polo action.

The opening encounter began on an even footing, with both teams scoring twice in the first chukker to level the score at 2-2. However, Jindal Panther took control in the second chukker, producing a strong attacking performance to establish an 8-2 advantage.

Sujan attempted to stay in contention, but Jindal Panther maintained its momentum and extended the lead to 9-4 by the end of the third chukker. The team then completed a convincing 12-6 victory to begin its campaign on a positive note.

Jindal Panther Cup Kicks Off Four-Week Polo Season

The Jindal Panther Cup marks the start of a four-tournament series at Jindal Polo Estate. The season will continue over four consecutive weeks, with the final tournament scheduled to conclude by November 1.

Following the opening cup, the calendar features the Sunjay Kapur Memorial Cup and the Jindal Panther Shield. The series will conclude with the Jindal Estate Cup, bringing together professional players and teams for a sustained run of competitive polo.

Matches are scheduled from Tuesday to Sunday, with the programme including opening and qualifying games, league fixtures, semi-finals and practice or reserve days. Sunday finals will provide the climax to each tournament.

Professional Facilities and Hospitality for Polo Players

Alongside the sporting action, Jindal Polo Estate is offering participating players facilities that include professional umpires, complimentary accommodation and horse stabling during the tournaments. The estate's polo grounds will host the four-week series, while match days will also feature food, beverages and hospitality after games. These arrangements are intended to create opportunities for players, patrons and polo enthusiasts to connect beyond the competition itself.

Focus Shifts to the Jindal Panther Cup Final

Following its opening victory, Jindal Panther will look to carry its momentum into the remaining fixtures of the Jindal Panther Cup. Teams will compete for a place in the final scheduled for Sunday. With three additional tournaments to follow, Jindal Polo Estate is set for an extended period of competitive action through October and into early November.

Established in the late 1980s by industrialist and sportsman Naveen Jindal, Jindal Panther Polo is recognised by the Indian Polo Association and has competed in major Indian tournaments, including the Baroda Cup, Jaipur Open, Sirmur Cup and Bhopal-Pataudi Cup.

The team also supports the wider development of polo through youth training, horse care, breeding practices and skills programmes for grooms and farriers, with the aim of strengthening the sport's future in India.
