Srinagar: Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara and Jammu's Poonch sectors for the fourth consecutive night, the Army said.

The Army said that they responded swiftly and effectively to the firing.

Army Version

"During the night of 27-28 April 2025, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across LoC in areas opposite Kupwara & Poonch districts. Indian troops responded swiftly and effectively, " Army said.

Ever since the Pahalgam terror attack, the Pakistan Army has violated the ceasefire agreement across the LoC in Kashmir for the last four days, but Sunday night was the first time that violations took place in the Poonch sector.

Earlier Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) for the third consecutive night, Army sources said on Sunday.

The firing was reported from the Nowgam sector in Kupwara district and the Boniyar sector in Baramulla district, they said.

Army responded “effectively with appropriate small arms fire”.

Army Sources

“On the night of 26th-27th April 2025, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in the areas opposite Tutmari Gali and Rampur Sectors. Our troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire,” the Army sources said.

This is the third consecutive night when the Pakistan Army opened small arms fire at several locations along the volatile LoC.

The exchange of fire along the LoC comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 25 tourists and one local resident.
