Heavy vehicles diverted on Delhi-Lucknow highway
New Delhi: Heavy vehicles were diverted on Delhi-Lucknow highway on Friday due to the increasing crowd of Kanwariyas.
After this, when the crowd increased, small vehicles were also run on the alternate route from Saturday morning.
Kanwariyas and their vehicles will run in both lanes on the highway. At the same time, there will be a one-way system for small vehicles on Kanth Road.
On Friday, a large number of Kanwariyas left for Brajghat. Due to this, there was a jam at many places on the Delhi highway. There was also a jam on the service road in Pakbara, seeing which the police administration sent heavy vehicles through an alternate route.
On Kanth Road, one lane was reserved for the Kanwariyas coming from Haridwar, while the movement of heavy vehicles was stopped.
Small vehicles were allowed to run in the other lane. SP City Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that a large number of groups have left for Brajghat.
Kanwariyas will start coming back from Saturday, due to which the operation of small vehicles on Delhi Road has also been stopped from Saturday morning.
These vehicles will also be run on the changed route while there will be a one-way system on Kanth Road. In view of the number of Kanwariyas, changes can be made for route diversion and operation of vehicles.

Roadways, private buses, heavy, four-wheelers including cars going from Moradabad to Delhi, Meerut will go to Meerut and Delhi via Bilari, Sambhal, Babrala, Narora, Dibai, Bulandshahr, Sikandarbad and will return by this route.
Roadways and private buses coming from Rampur towards Moradabad will come to the temporary bus stand built in Azad Nagar via Shahabad, Bilari and will return from there.
Heavy vehicles going from Amroha towards Rampur-Bareilly will reach Rampur via Kailsha, Bagdpur, Dingarpur Tiraha Pakbada to Dingarpur, Kundarki, Bilari, Shahabad and will return by this route.
All heavy vehicles going from Moradabad to Bijnor, Haridwar and Muzaffarnagar will go from Moradabad via Thakurdwara, Jaspur, Afzalgarh, Dhampur and Bijnor.
Light vehicles going from Moradabad to Bijnor will go from TMU cut to Sherua Chauraha, Chhajlat, Noorpur, to Bijnor and will return via the same route.
Light vehicles going from Bijnor Road to Bareilly and Rampur will go from Kothiwal Dental College on Kanth Road via Thakurdwara bypass via Bhojpur and Kashipur Tiraha.
Heavy vehicles going from Moradabad to Chhajlat, Kanth and Dhampur will be completely banned. Light vehicles will also be allowed to run depending on the number of Kanwariyas.
Roadways buses going from Moradabad to Bijnor, Haridwar will go from the temporary bus stand built under the Prem Wonder Land bridge in Katghar area via Thakurdwara, Kashipur, Jaspur, Afzalgarh, Sherkot, Dhampur and will return via the same route.
