Rahul Gandhi Condemns Terrorist Attack on Tourists
New Delhi: Senior Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has shared a post regarding the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. He questioned the central government over its 'hollow claims' of normalcy in the Kashmir Valley, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Gandhi said, "The whole country is united against terrorism. The government should take concrete steps instead of making claims of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir."
He urged all political parties to collectively condemn this heinous attack and rise above political rivalry.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given instructions to take strict action against terrorism by talking to Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone from Saudi Arabia itself. Modi made it clear that "the fight against terrorism is unwavering and no concessions will be given to the perpetrators of violence."
Home Minister Amit Shah has immediately left for Srinagar, where he will meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir Police and review the security.
The attack comes during the US Vice President's visit to India, which is reminiscent of the terrorist attacks during the visit of then US President Bill Clinton in 2000. Experts believe that this attempt to target tourists is part of a strategy to create instability in the region and attract international attention.
