Ghaziabad: A shocking incident has come to light from Ghaziabad, where a Delhi Police female commando, Kajal, was brutally murdered just two years after her love marriage.
The accused, Ankur, a clerk with the Ministry of Defence, allegedly murdered his wife by repeatedly striking her on the head with a gym dumbbell.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the police force and the local community, as the man who once promised to stand by her for life ended her life without hesitation.
No Mercy, Not Even for Their Infant Son
The brutality of the crime has left behind a one-and-a-half-year-old child, now deprived of his mother’s care. With the father set to spend years behind bars for the crime, questions loom large over the future of the innocent child, who has been left parentless at a very young age.
Brother Couldn’t Save Her
Kajal’s brother, Nikhil, who is a constable posted at Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi, recounted the horrifying sequence of events. He said Kajal had called him during a dispute with her husband. While she was on the call, Ankur allegedly attacked her, striking her head multiple times with a dumbbell.
Just five minutes later, Ankur reportedly called Nikhil and confessed to killing Kajal. Nikhil immediately informed the police and rushed to the spot.
By then, Ankur had taken the critically injured Kajal to Tarak Hospital in Mohan Garden. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar on January 24. Despite treatment, Kajal succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
History of Violence and Dowry Harassment
According to the family, this was not the first instance of violence. On January 22, Ankur had allegedly assaulted Kajal earlier as well. A case of attempted murder was registered against him at Mohan Garden police station, and he was arrested and sent to jail the same day.
Nikhil further alleged that despite it being a love marriage, Ankur and his family had been harassing Kajal for dowry ever since the wedding.
Married in 2023
Kajal, a resident of Badi village in Gannaur, Haryana, married Ankur, a resident of Idgah in Gannaur, in 2023. The couple lived in Mohan Garden, Delhi, along with their young son.
Following Kajal’s death, information was shared with the Sihani Gate police station, which coordinated with Delhi Police. A postmortem was conducted on Tuesday, and a Delhi Police team collected the report later that night.
Kajal’s last rites will be performed in her native village of Badi on Wednesday.
The case has once again raised serious concerns over domestic violence, dowry harassment, and the safety of women—even those serving in uniform.
