Ahilyanagar:  In a major operation conducted by Mahrashtra police, 408 kg of Alprazolam worth Rs 13 crore 75 lakh 41 thousand was seized in Ahilyanagar district, a senior officer said on Thursday, reports Dynamite News correspondent..
Police have arrested a small goods vehicle driver and a case has been registered against a chemical engineer at Srirampur city police station under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
Police arrested Mininath Vishnu Rashinkar (38) a resident of Dhangarwadi, Rahata, Ahilyanagar. Shrirampur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr. Basavaraj Shivpuje said this is the first action to seize drugs worth about Rs 14 crore in Ahilyanagar district.
Dr. Shivpuje said information was received that drugs would be transported in a small goods vehicle in the Shrirampur MIDC area.
Accordingly, a team along with Police Inspector Nitin Deshmukh was asked to search. The 14 bags of powder were found in a tempo and crystals were found in the remaining 7 bags. The crystals were Alprazolam and the white powder in the bags was the raw material needed to make Alprazolam,
