New Delhi: A bizarre incident has emerged from Maharashtra’s Amravati district, where rumours of ghosts and spirits reportedly created panic among students at a government-run tribal hostel. Fearing paranormal activity, all 608 students living at the hostel left the campus and returned to their homes.

The incident took place at the Doma Tribal Ashram School in Amravati. Several students claimed that they heard unusual sounds inside the hostel premises during the night, which triggered fear among the residents.

Students Report Hearing Strange Sounds

According to the students, they heard the sounds of ghungroos (ankle bells) along with unusual laughter and crying noises at night. The hostel housed 263 boys and 345 girls, all of whom reportedly left the premises after rumours about ghostly activities spread.

School Administration Takes Action

The school administration took the students’ complaints seriously and launched an inquiry into the matter. School Headmaster Sanjay Chaudhary said that several girl students had reported hearing strange sounds during the night.

As a precautionary measure, some female students were taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Doctors suggested that the symptoms reported by the students could be related to severe hysteria, a condition where extreme fear or stress may lead to unusual behaviour and reactions.

The administration is now working to address the students’ concerns and restore confidence among them.
