Vijayawada: An Indigo flight traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada landed safely at Gannavaram Airport on Tuesday; however, a major technical issue emerged shortly thereafter. Some time after landing, it was discovered that one of the aircraft's tires had burst, leading to the flight being immediately grounded, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

A total of 79 people were on board the aircraft, comprising 75 passengers and 4 crew members. Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries in this incident, and everyone remains completely safe.

Pilot Reports the Issue

Approximately 45 minutes after the flight landed, the pilot informed air traffic control (ATC) about the problem. Following this, airport authorities immediately took the necessary measures, and the aircraft was prohibited from taking off.

Flight Cancelled; Passengers Accommodated

The flight was scheduled to return to Hyderabad, but it was cancelled due to the tire burst. Passengers were accommodated on other flights, and those who chose to cancel their tickets were issued full refunds.

According to airport officials, there could be several reasons for the tire burst, such as excessive air pressure or the tire being worn out. However, the actual cause will only be determined following an investigation by the engineering team.

When Did the Tire Burst?

It is not yet clear whether the tire burst before takeoff, during the landing, or after the landing. However, officials state that no issues were reported during the landing itself; therefore, the precise details will only emerge after the technical investigation is complete.

New Tire Ordered

A new tire is being procured from Bengaluru to get the aircraft back in service. The flight will be cleared for operations only after the tire has been replaced.

This incident could have escalated into a major disaster, but the situation was brought under control in the nick of time. All eyes are now on the engineering investigation to reveal the true cause of the incident.
