New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first "Mann Ki Baat" address of 2026, congratulated the Nation on Republic Day. He especially appealed to young voters to celebrate National Voters' Day. The PM said that becoming a voter is an important milestone in life, and celebrating it increases awareness about voting.

Appeal to Celebrate Voterhood

PM Modi said, "We appeal to all countrymen to celebrate becoming voters. Just as we share joy on birthdays, when a young person becomes a voter, the entire neighborhood, village, or city should come together to congratulate them. These small efforts will strengthen democracy and increase citizens' responsibility towards voting."

Referring to Journey of Startup India

The Prime Minister also mentioned the trend on social media, in which people are sharing their memories of 2016. PM Modi said that 2016 was the year of the launch of Startup India. He praised the hard work and innovation of young startups and said that today India is becoming the third largest startup ecosystem. Indian startups are working in areas such as AI, space, nuclear energy, semiconductors, and green hydrogen.

Bhajan Clubbing and Youth Culture

PM Modi also discussed the popular Bhajan Clubbing trend among the general public. He explained that young people are making devotional music a part of their lifestyle. It combines fervor and devotion through bhajan music, lighting, and group gatherings. The PM described this as a positive cultural change that maintains the dignity of words and emotions.

Public Participation and the Nation's Strength

Emphasizing the importance of public participation, the Prime Minister cited the example of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. Here, local people made efforts to clean water bodies and increase green cover. More than 10 water bodies were revived and over 7,000 trees were planted. PM Modi said this symbolizes the nation's strength and that public participation strengthens democracy.
