Govind Bhai Dholakia was born in a small village with a population of only around 700. The village school only reached the seventh grade. He studied until the sixth grade and then moved to Surat with his brother. This is where the real struggle of his life began.
He explained that when he arrived in Surat, only 200 people worked in the diamond industry. Today, this number has reached nearly 1 million. He worked 14 hours a day for 14 years. Despite working from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., he was happy because, unlike his village salary of ₹1, he was earning ₹4 here.
Govind Bhai started with two friends with just ₹15,000. Initially, he had only two employees. Today, his company employs over 9,000 people and has a turnover of over ₹12,000 crores. His company exports diamonds to over 100 countries worldwide.
Govind Bhai is not only a successful businessman but also a generous person. He frequently gifts houses and cars to his employees. This is why he is seen as an ideal industrialist.
He explained that he never wanted to enter politics. But one day, he received a call from Amit Shah, informing him that Narendra Modi wanted to send him to the Rajya Sabha. After discussions with his family, he accepted the offer, and today he is a Rajya Sabha MP.
Govind Bhai believes that hard work, honesty, and dedication are the true keys to success. He says that if one wants to move ahead in life, one must take risks, leave one's job, start one's own business, and work tirelessly.
