New Delhi: The Eliminator match of IPL 2025 was very exciting, where Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans by 20 runs and knocked them out of the tournament. The match was played at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, in which Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first and put up a big score.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, Mumbai Indians, who came out to bat first, had an aggressive start. Captain Rohit Sharma and young batsman Tilak Verma started fast and gave the team a strong base in the powerplay itself. Suryakumar Yadav also batted brilliantly and played a brilliant innings of 68 runs in 39 balls. Mumbai scored a huge score of 228 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami took one wicket each from Gujarat's side, but the bowlers looked helpless in front of Mumbai's batsmen.
Gujarat Titans came out to chase the target
Chasing the target of 229 runs, Gujarat Titans needed a fast start, but opener Shubman Gill returned to the pavilion early. However, Sai Sudarshan and David Miller tried to handle the team by making a partnership in the middle overs. Miller played a quick innings of 72 runs in 41 balls, but under the pressure of run rate, Gujarat kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Hardik Pandya also could not do anything special and Gujarat's team could score only 208 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled economically
Jasprit Bumrah bowled economically for Mumbai Indians and took two wickets, while spinner Piyush Chawla also dashed Gujarat's hopes by taking wickets at crucial times. Eventually, Mumbai won this crucial match by 20 runs and confirmed their place in Qualifier-2.
