New Delhi: Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers were waiting for their 20th installment that the Union Cabinet approved the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana by combining 36 schemes with an outlay of Rs 24,000 crore per year.

These schemes will benefit 1.7 crore farmers. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced this.

Who will benefit from PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana

PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana will benefit such small farmers, where the average yield of farming is less. Under this scheme, farmers will be given many facilities related to farming, so that both their yield and income can increase.

Announcing this scheme in Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that this would encourage farmers to use scientific techniques. Also, farmers will be encouraged to produce different types of crops.

Where will PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana be implemented? The government will implement PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana in 100 districts of the country. Farmers having one hectare or less land will get the benefit of this scheme. To encourage women farmers, they will get special benefits in the scheme.

What will be the benefit to farmers under PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana?

Under this scheme, farmers will get good quality seeds at a low price. Also, fertilizers required for farming will also be given free of cost. The objective of this scheme is to introduce marginal and small farmers to modern scientific methods of farming.

Farmers will get discounts on the purchase of irrigation means like pumps or tractors. Apart from this, farmers will be given facilities for crop storage at the block level. Also, short term and long term loans will also be arranged.

How much budget has been allocated for PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana?

The government has made a provision of Rs 1.37 lakh crore for this scheme. This amount will be spent by the central and state governments together. The aim of the scheme is to expand the farming structure to the panchayat and rural levels.

As per the government estimates, the programme is likely to help 1.7 crore farmers.
