New Delhi: A day after high drama in the national capital, the satirical platform Cockroach Janta Party has said its protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar will continue as Day 2 of Monsoon Session to begin in parliament.
Tuesday morning saw protesters reclaiming the site after police removed the stage and tents from Jantar Mantar following a day of protests and confrontations between protesters and police on Monday.
The CJP protest entered a fresh phase on Tuesday as convenor Abhijeet Dipke returned to Jantar Mantar along with supporters, a day after clashes during the 'Chalo Sansad' march. Demonstrators resumed slogans and speeches amid heightened security across the national capital.
After meeting students injured during Monday's protest, Dipke expressed regret over the violence and said he wished he had done more to protect the movement's supporters. He also appealed to injured participants to contact him directly, assuring them that the campaign would continue despite the crackdown
Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Tuesday visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and met protesters injured during the CJP-led demonstration over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. Nadda also held discussions with doctors regarding the condition and treatment of those admitted to the hospital.

The Delhi Police said it had so far registered five FIRs at the Connaught Place Police Station, Parliament Street Police Station and other police stations over vandalism during the protest march on Monday.
The accused are being identified through CCTV footage, the police said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) lawmakers to reach out to the youth and dispel concerns, adding that those responsible for the paper leaks will be dealt with according to law, people aware of the details said.
In a health bulletin released on Tuesday, the Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital said activist Sonam Wangchuk is receiving medical treatment under the close supervision of a multidisciplinary team of experts.
“At present, Shri Wangchuk's vital parameters remain stable. However, his blood sugar levels continue to remain on the lower side. His serum potassium level as analysed from a sample collected last night stands at 3.2 mEq/L, and he continues to have persistent pancytopenia, characterized by anaemia and low leukocyte counts. These clinical and laboratory parameters warrant continued close monitoring through serial investigations,” the bulletin stated.
Security arrangements have been intensified in New Delhi, Central, North, South, South West and South East districts, besides other vulnerable areas, PTI news agency cited a police source as saying.

Multi-layered barricades have been erected at strategic points, while vehicle checking has been increased and patrolling stepped up, the source told PTI. Additional personnel have also been deployed around key government buildings, major intersections and protest-prone areas, the source said.
CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday apologised to supporters of the movement, saying he “could have done better” to protect them.
“I apologise to all our supporters, especially the girls who were brutally beaten by male police officers. We could have done better. I could have done better to protect you from the inhumane actions of the Delhi Police,” he said in a post on X.

He further criticised the union government, and urged the injured to message him personally. “To protect one Dharmendra Pradhan, who is responsible for the deaths of more than 20 students, the Govt was willing to spill the blood of many more young students. If you were injured and see this, please DM me. I want to speak to you personally and apologise. We will keep fighting for all of you,” he added.
