Ujjain: Now there will be a massive change in the Bhasma Aarti Darshan system of the Mahakal temple. Devotees will know where to sit during the Aarti along with the Bhasma Aarti booking.
The temple committee will also issue numbers to devotees along with virtual permission. Preparations are on for the new system. Bhasma Aarti of Lord Mahakal is performed every day at four in the morning in Jyotirling Mahakal temple.
Every day 1700 devotees are allowed to have Bhasma Aarti Darshan by the temple committee. For Bhasma Aarti Darshan, devotees are seated in Nandi, Ganesh and Kartikeya Mandapam. Devotees do not know where they will be seated.
Pushing and shoving also happens every day
The prevailing system becomes the cause of dispute on many occasions. There is pushing and shoving every day. After entering the temple, many devotees start arguing about sitting in the front.
The new darshan system for Bhasma Aarti will be on first come first serve basis. Those who apply first will be able to sit in the front row. This system will completely break the myth that only VVIPs sit in the front row to see the Bhasma Aarti.
There will be arrangements
Arrangements are being made to fix seats for the devotees who come to see the Bhasma Aarti. Along with booking the darshan, devotees will also know where to sit. Preparations are going on regarding the arrangements. Other technical innovations are also being done in the temple. – Roshan Kumar Singh, Collector, Ujjain
