New Delhi: During the nine days of Navratri, nine forms of the Goddess are worshipped. Goddess Kushmanda is worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri. It is believed that Goddess Kushmanda created the universe with her energy. Therefore, this form of the Goddess is named Kushmanda.

Goddess Kushmanda loves the color yellow. Therefore, yellow sweets are offered to her. In such a situation, almond halwa is a good choice for offering to the Goddess. Goddess Kushmanda is considered a symbol of power and energy. Therefore, devotees believe that this offering pleases the Goddess and blesses the family with happiness, prosperity, and health. Let's learn the easy recipe for making almond halwa (Navratri Recipes 2025).

Ingredients for Almond Halwa (Badam Halwa Recipe)
1 cup almonds (soaked and peeled)
2 cups milk
1/2 cup ghee
1 cup sugar (add more or less to taste)
4-5 cardamom (powdered)
8-10 saffron threads
8-10 cashews and almond slivers (for garnishing)

Method for Almond Halwa
First, soak the almonds in water overnight. In the morning, peel them and grind them finely with milk. This will create a smooth texture for the halwa.

Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the almond paste and fry over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent the paste from sticking to the bottom. Within a short time, the halwa will begin to smell fragrant and turn golden.

Add the remaining milk and mix well. When the mixture begins to thicken, add the sugar and continue stirring. Once the sugar dissolves, the halwa will begin to shine slightly.

Add the cardamom powder and soaked saffron threads. These will add aroma and an attractive color to the halwa.

When the halwa is completely thick and desired consistency, turn off the heat. Garnish with chopped cashews and almonds.
The almond halwa is ready. Transfer it to a plate and offer it to the Mother Goddess.
